Places to Stay

There are several places in the parish that offer accommodation, which allow guests to experience the delights of the beautiful North Devon countryside. Many guests return again and again!

The town of Bideford is near by and local beaches are easily accessible.

  • Broadpark Camping

    Broad Park Camping is a small peaceful site, nestled in the beautiful unspoilt countryside. This tranquil location is surrounded by nature, with rolling hills and far reaching views and has a selection of hard standing and grass pitches. Feed the Goats, Alpacas and Chickens, cook up a barbecue, toast marshmallows over a fire basket and chill out under a sky full of stars which, on a clear night is breathtaking.   • Swallows Cottage

    Set within beautiful open countryside, in a peaceful rural village just 3 miles from historic Bideford, this traditional stone barn has been converted to holiday accommodation of a very high standard, combining modern amenities with original character. Close to many local attractions and dramatic South-West coastal paths for spectacular walking, there are numerous beaches ranging from the quaint fishing village of Buck Mills, to sandy beaches of Westward Ho! with its 18-hole golf and family attractions. Exmoor National Park within easy driving distance. Fishing within 5 miles. Shops 3 miles.

  • Cherry Tree Barn

    This property enjoys a quiet location within the grounds of the owner’s property on this former farm. There are miles of lovely country walks directly from the doorstep of the property, allowing guests to really make the most of the peace and tranquillity that is offered here. But, despite appearances, this property is not at all remote, or cut-off, and there is plenty to see and do within a ten-minute drive of the property, including the attractive harbour town of Bideford, with its collection of independent shops, the two-mile wide beach at Westward Ho!, and The Big Sheep family adventure park. As soon as guests arrive at this single-storey barn conversion property, they will immediately see just how much love and care has been put into making it a stylish and comfortable place to stay.

  • Honeysuckle Hideaway

    This spacious wing of the owners' newly converted farmhouse overlooks the former farmyard yet privacy is assured. There are miles of lovely country walks directly from the doorstep, allowing guests to make the most of the peace and tranquillity that is offered here. But despite appearances this property is not all remote and there is lots to see and do in the area including the picturesque Hartland Quay and the beautiful South West Coast Path with spectacular walks and stunning scenery, including dramatic cliffs, waterfalls, secluded coves and beaches. In addition, and just a short drive away, Westward Ho! offers two miles of golden sandy beach and ever popular Bude boasts a choice of beaches, numerous amenities and a picturesque canal. Other attractions and places of interest accessible from here include Clovelly, the unique cliffside fishing village with cobbled streets and pretty harbour and RHS Rosemoor.

  • Old Stables Tack Room

    Relax in a comfortable, compact, private and self-contained en-suite annexe room for a single person, well away from the main residence. Crockery, cutlery, kettle, toaster, fridge, food warmer, TV, wi-fi, etc., all provided, as is a light breakfast in situ, replenished as required. Located in the small peaceful hamlet of Alwington, the Tack Room is 1/2 mile from the A39 Atlantic Highway, but only a short drive from the shops & supermarkets of Bideford.

  • The Stone Barn at Hock Ridge Farm

    This charming barn sits within the grounds of the owner’s farmhouse. Park and unload beside the barn and plan your adventures. Heading into the barn you will find yourself in the hall where clever boxed seating allows coats, walking boots and wellies to be kicked off and stored easily – a large picture window here creates a light and airy feel. A spacious and contemporary shower room with a walk-in shower and WC is found just off the hall. Heading into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, you can look forward to a cosy evening around the warming wood burner (first basket of logs included), a Smart TV, comfy sofa and arm chair. The kitchen area has an electric oven and hob, built-in microwave, dishwasher, and fridge/freezer. The bedroom completes the accommodation and comprises a king-size bed and a Smart TV.

    Stepping outside to a small, enclosed courtyard with a patio table and chairs. Guests are welcome to wander the land however, dogs must be kept on a lead. On-site there is a type 2 electric car charging point which can be used by arrangement with the owner for an extra cost.

  • Chiddlecombe Farm

    Chiddlecombe Farm boasts two beautifully refurbished barns, Chapman House and Orchard House. Nestled in 20 acres of shared woodland and meadows, these delightful holiday properties enjoy use of a tennis court and a games room, ideal for that family holiday. Their setting allows guests to gaze out over the Atlantic to the stunning Lundy Island. They can be booked together to accommodate up to 24 guests.
